Glen House

Edzell, Angus - 2011

We were asked to look at replacing a previous extension formed when the house was a doctor’s surgery with a studio, garden room and porch to the rear of the house. Project Summary

We opted to fill in a very small light well to maximise internal space and bring in plentiful natural light through roof lights and a clerestory at high level. A sliding door was formed so that the studio could open up to the garden room or be hidden away as required. A sauna, shower room and utility space were also formed in the middle of the plan to serve the ground floor. A wall of sliding doors and glazing brings the garden in to the room at the rear.
